I am developing an extension which the user can add information through frontend interface. I would like to know how to make the fields required. If I make them required how can I controll the exclamation message that would appear?

we can't answer this without you giving the information how you do it exactly. There are (too) many ways to develop a TYPO3 extension.
The extension I'm developing extends frontend sg_zlib extension.
Anyone knows how to make required fields extending this extension?
