I have just installed typo 3 and I get the following error on the front page on the left side.

Fatal error: Call to undefined function: imagegif() in /home/theogham/public_html/t3lib/class.t3lib_stdgraphic.php on line 2316

Then your php/gdlib configuration does not support the creation of GIF files. Goes to the install tool (All configuration) and choose to generate PNG files instead.
