Umlaute in renderObj string: Dateien werden nicht gefunden

Ich habe ein script, welches mir ein img-Tag mit data-attributen generiert (für responsive images). Das funktioniert auch eigentlich Prima, nur wenn die Dateien oder Pfade Umlaute enthalten, wird nichts ausgegeben.

Wie kann ich das Script so anpassen, dass Umlaute keine Probleme bereiten?
