# warum kann ich die index.php nicht editieren?

Moin @ all!

Ich habe gestern auf einem webserver typo3 installiert. Soweit so gut. Jetzt müsste ich ja, um es endgültig installieren zu können ja die /.../.../typo3/index.php modifizieren. Wenn ich da aber nun öffnen will, dann geht das hier bei mir nur mit "gedit" und logischerweise werden Änderungen nicht auf dem Server gespeichert.
Wie aber mache ich es nun ambesten? Die Datei runtersaugen, hier lokal verändern und dann wieder uploaden? Oder habe ich schon einen Bock vorher bei der Grundinstallation geschossen? Und dann habe ich mir die Frage gestellt wo im Script diese 'die ()' Funktion ist? Und welche index.php ist denn die richtige? Hier mal meine Pfade, da ich zwei index.php finde:

public_html/cms/typo3_src-4.0/index.php
public_html/cms/typo3_src-4.0/typo3/index.php

die richtige liegt im verzeichnis deinweb/typo3/install/index.php

Okay! Das File habe ich auch. Aber wie soll ich die Funktion auskommentieren, wenn ich das so auf dem Webserver nicht direkt öffnen und bearbeiten kann? Und zum anderen frage ich mich gerade hinsichtlich des vorangehenden Kommantres (...you can just remove the if statement...), ob ich die ganzen 5 Zeilen löschen soll/kann?
Soll ich die nun lokal bearbeiten und dann uploaden?

ja runter laden, editieren, uplaoad... alternativ gibts FTP-Programme die das onthefly können oder webftp, wo man das auch teilw kann... 100te wege ;)

:D jupp, jetzt bin ich drin, drin, drin!

#paralyzed# gibt es eine vorgegebenes Passwort, weil wenn ich jetzt auf das Backend will, mag es meinen Usernamen und auch mein Passwort nicht!

du meinst fürs install tool (domain.tld/typo3/install/)? da ist es joh316, da musst du die einzelnen schritte durchmachen, und da wird dir auch ein user angelegt, mit dem kannst du dich dann einloggen domain.tld/typo3 mit admin/password

joh 316 ist das PW, richtig? Und Username = ???

install-tool gibts nur 1 feld => joh316
